“The whole world is a series of miracles, but we’re so used to them we call them ordinary things.” Hans Christian Andersen.
This quote sits atop both of our desks. It’s been there for going on a decade, and it’s reminds us to slow down, look up, breathe in, and appreciate the gift of moment, place, people, and life…to fix our eyes and lenses to see and share the extraordinary, the beauty of life that sits right under the world’s busyness, just waiting to be noticed. We’ve seen that we draw close and live this out, like minded people are placed in our path… like Hugh + Caitie, for that we’re incredibly grateful. One cold ordinary January afternoon, we received this extraordinary message from Caitie and Hugh…
“Thanks for the opportunity to explore photography for Hugh and me this Spring! We live in western North Carolina, but plan to elope on Ocracoke… It will just be the two of us, and maybe our Lab-Foxhound, Bojangles. Ocracoke is a meaningful place for both of us (an annual Downeast family retreat for me and a Spring and Fall fishing destination for Hugh). We hope any photography from that day represents our deep alignment with one another, sense of place and intimate partnership. Capturing magic, telling a story, and good light are most important to us.”
We were hooked from the first message – everything about the experience that Hugh + Caitie wanted to create together was meaningful, intentional, and memorable. The day didn’t disappoint. Hugh and Caitie blessed Daniel with creative reign to photograph the day however we saw fit.
It’s our hope that these photographs accomplished what we set out to celebrate:Hugh + Caitie’s deep alignment with another, a sense of place, intimate partnership, capturing magic, telling a story, and good light.
THANK YOU HUGH + CAITIE & CONGRATULATIONS!!
